On July 1, Hurricane Beryl made landfall on the island of Carriacou as a high-end Category 4 storm, causing extensive damage across the island. Homes, businesses, and infrastructure were all affected, leaving many in our community facing significant challenges. Despite the devastation, the spirit of Carriacou’s people has shone brightly, and the recovery process is well underway.
In the months since the hurricane, there has been remarkable progress. Essential services have largely been restored, many homes and businesses have been rebuilt, and the natural beauty of our island is returning. Efforts by local residents, government agencies, and international organizations have made a tremendous difference in helping Carriacou get back on its feet.
Carriacou’s accommodation, restaurants & bars, and attractions have mostly bounced back, welcoming visitors with the same warmth and charm that the island is known for. Many of these have been renovated or reopened, offering an even better experience for guests.
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported the recovery—whether through donations, volunteering, or simply keeping Carriacou in your thoughts. Your kindness has played an essential role in the island’s journey toward recovery.
While much has been accomplished, work remains to be done. For visitors, Carriacou is still a beautiful and welcoming destination. Your support, through tourism and other contributions, will continue to help our community thrive as we move forward.
Thank you for being part of our story.
