Paradise Beach

Recently voted the best beach in the Caribbean, Paradise Beach is the most famous of Carriacou’s beaches and a "must visit". It has a stretch of soft white sand where you can enjoy a shallow shoreline of transparent turquoise waters.

Paradise Beach is a truly stunning attraction that fringes L'Esterre Bay and about an equal distance between Hillsborough to Tyrell Bay.

Though no beach in Carriacou is ever crowded, most are usually wholly deserted. But Paradise Beach is probably the most popular and where you will see other people at play. Locals come here to swim and have picnics, and private taxis often drop off day-trippers here.

The beach is white sand with a backdrop of sea almond and grape trees and the occasional manchineel tree. There is a degree of shade thanks to some trees at the back of the beach, some with benches and mini-gazebos.

The bay is protected so attracts very few waves and has a gentle current. This and a shallow depth along the shore makes it ideal for families with young children.

Carriacou's most famous beach

Paradise Beach is the epitome of serenity and relaxation, with colorfully painted fishing boats bobbing sedately offshore.

There are several bars and eateries selling refreshments and meals. Water taxis can also be chartered at the Hardwood Bar and Paradise Beach Club to take you to the outlying islands including must-see Sandy Island.
